This course, set over 2 weeks, will not only give you the all training needed to run a chalet to a very high standard, but will give you the most authentic taste of life in the mountains as a Chalet Host.
We will collect you from Geneva Airport and bring you to Chalet Natasha in La Tania, arriving in time for Afternoon Tea and an introduction to the Ski Vie Course when you will receive your Ski Vie Chalet Host Course Manual, Recipe Book and Stocktake, Shopping & Accounts Book.
The first week’s lessons will give you thorough knowledge of setting up and running your chalet while you experience fully-catered chalet hospitality (with Christmas Day including Christmas Dinner) provided by candidates on Week 2 of the Ski Vie Course. Among the many lessons in Week 1, you will be taught the full range of housekeeping, kitchen and knife skills. Plus, you will create a Menu Plan, check your stock, make a shopping list and go to the nearest town to shop for the food you will cook and serve in Week 2. You will have a full day off when you can enjoy one of the many mountain activities available in and around La Tania (at your own expense).
Week 2 will start with a full chalet changeover, greeting your ‘guests’ (new Week 1 candidates) and continuing with full chalet host services allowing you free time during the day when you can choose from a variety of summer mountain activities in lieu of ski time (again at your own expense). You will have a day off to enjoy a well-earned lie in before getting out into the mountains. After your day off Christmas arrives with all the hard work and cooking (and enjoyment) that it brings. As part of the celebrations you will be awarded all the certificates for the qualifications you have earned.
You will gain a Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate but also included in your training at no extra cost, and not provided on any other chalet host training course, you will gain further qualifications in Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2, Paediatric First Aid Level 3, Customer Service Certificate, Manual Handling Certificate and Health & Safety Certificate Level 2. These, along with your Ski Vie Chalet Host training, will make you stand out above others to Ski Holiday Companies & other employers, not only in the hospitality business.
